Danish marine and ship portrait painter. Like many marine painters he was an autodidact. Since at least 1924 he worked as a full-time artist. He exhibited in New York, Paris and London and his works are in collections all over the world. He also received many commissions from Danish shipyards and shipping companies. Aside from his marine ship portrait commissions his favoured works are those where he excelled in post-impressionist seascapes: capturing stunning lighting, particularly his dusk and sunset scenes.
