Hubert Glansdorff (Belgian School, 1877-1963)
Hubert Glansdorff was born in Elsene near Brussels in 1877. As a young man he enrolled as a student of Stallaert at the Brussels Academy and early in his career concentrated on figurative paintings especially images of children. By 1900 he was exhibiting in many of Belgium's premier art institutions and gaining a reputation as a colorist. From then on he devoted himself to floral paintings and it is these for which he is now best remembered. Examples of his paintings can be seen in the museums of Brussels and Kortrijk in Belgium.
