Henry Somers Kortright (1870-1942) British
The Works of Henry Somers Kortright fall into two distinct oeuvres, firstly his formal portraits (he was known to have studied under Sir Hubert Von Herkomer 1849-1914), secondly and in complete contrast, his beguiling and colourful garden scenes. It is the latter for which he is today best known, his work today is in the collections of Bushey Museum, Bexhill Art Gallery and The Bank of England.
